Choir - Shir Libeinu
Shir Libeinu (which in Hebrew means Song of Hearts) is vibrant spirited adult choir. The choir is led by Cantor Marina Shemesh and Assistant Conductor, Joanna Russell. The merging of the celebrated musical legacies of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex and Temple Sinai choirs has created a dynamic harmonious ensemble. Shir Libeinu is made up of over 20 members of all ages and musical abilities who enjoy singing Jewish music, socializing, and having fun. Shir Libeinu rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm when we learn new music and review old favourites. The choir sings at High Holy Days (supported by our professional choir), special Friday night Shabbat services, joint services with other Summit temples, and other Temple events.
For those who love to sing, learn Jewish music and meet other temple congregants, please join us for a rehearsal. You do not need to know how to read music or Hebrew. And whether you are a musical expert or a novice, the guidance and warmth of the established members of each musical section will make you feel comfortable and part of a rewarding team.
