About Us

Temple Sinai is an inclusive and diverse Reform Jewish Congregation affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. Housed in a beautiful mansion, we take pride in our homey and hamish (warm and open) atmosphere.

Temple Sinai's informal and unpretentious culture offers spiritual, musical and intellectually engaging worship services and programs. Making the world a better place is not only a value, but a priority. We engage in acts of kindness by caring for the vulnerable and respecting the earth. Temple Sinai’s newly dedicated Temple Emanu-El Holocaust Remembrance Center is dedicated to remembering the past and carrying forward the lessons of hatred and intolerance. Our members are committed to building a more just, compassionate and peaceful world.

A regional center for learning, prayer and inclusive celebrations, our membership draws from Basking Ridge, Berkeley Heights, Bernardsville, Chatham, Florham Park, Gillette, Green Village, Livingston, Madison, Millburn, Montclair, Morristown, Mountainside, Murray Hill, New Providence, New Vernon, New York, Rockaway, Short Hills, South Orange, Springfield, Sterling, Summit, Warren, Watchung, West Orange and Westfield. Included in our membership is a growing number of inter-faith families. We are dedicated to making our congregation as welcoming and fulfilling as possible.

Temple Sinai’s Early Childhood Education Program serves as the first step in your child’s Jewish Education. Our children begin their educational journeys through interactive experiences that promote positive self-esteem, intellectual curiosity, and life-long friendships. Temple Sinai’s K-7 Religious School/ Rabbi Stuart Gershon Teen Program is dedicated to the Jewish education of our children. Our mission is to foster the enduring Jewish identity of our students by weaving Torah values into their modern lives, with an emphasis on family engagement and acts of kindness. Learning continues to adulthood with a robust speaker series, Lunch and Learn and Saturday morning Torah Study.

With active committees, clubs and groups, there is plenty of opportunity to meet and make friends – Come join us!
