How often do you have services?

Temple Sinai offers multiple Friday night Shabbat experiences: Shabbat Nefesh, a musical and soulful, Shabbat B'Yachad, a multi-generational one-hour service, Traditional Friday night service, and Tot Shabbat.  Check the Temple Calendar for service schedules.

Saturday mornings begin at 8:45 with a one hour Torah Study class.  Check the Temple Calendar for a schedule of 10:30 Shabbat morning B'nei Mitzvah Services.

How many clergy does Temple Sinai have?

Rabbi Erin Glazer began her tenure as our new Rabbi on July 1, 2020. Cantor Marina Shemesh joined Temple Sinai in 2013. Rabbi Shira Gluck began her tenure as Associate Rabbi and Director of Congregational Learning on July 1, 2022.  Rabbi Stuart Gershon retired in June 2019 and serves as Rabbi Emeritus.  Our Cantor Emeritus, Florence Friedman, retired in 2013.  With the merger of Temple Sinai and Temple Emanu-El, Rabbi Peter Kasdan, Emeritus, joined us in 2017.


How many members does Temple Sinai have?

We currently have approximately 420 families. Our membership draws from the towns of Summit, Livingston, Millburn/Short Hills, Berkeley Heights, New Providence/Murray Hill, Springfield, Chatham, Watchung, and other towns in our area. Our congregants range in age from 30 somethings to 90 somethings. You will quickly feel like you are part of a small and very friendly Temple. We offer a wide variety of programs for every interest group.


What do I receive for my membership commitment?

Clergy, staff and members will be there to support you through life's challenges and joys. You will be a part of a community that creates a nurturing environment for the next generation of Jews.  Membership includes High Holy Day tickets,  learning opportunities, holiday celebrations, volunteer and social activities.  Membership is required to attend Religious School. 


Is Temple Sinai a non-profit organization?

Temple Sinai is a 501 (C) (3) US tax exempt organization.
