Mission Statement:
Temple Sinai is a vibrant hub of Reform Jewish life where members of all ages are actively engaged in prayer, spirituality, learning and social action. We are a diverse congregation where members from different backgrounds and with different beliefs all feel at home, celebrating together with joy and caring for each other in times of need. Temple Sinai welcomes the full participation of all who seek a Jewish community. We are a synagogue with strong ties to Israel and are proud to be part of the global Jewish people. Guided by Torah, Jewish values, and the wisdom of Jewish tradition, we strive to live lives of meaning and create positive change in the world around us.
VALUES: OUR COMMUNAL COVENANT
We know that having an intentional, collaborative, and supportive congregational culture means naming the values that tie us together and shape the ways we treat each other. To that end, our community has defined a set of core values. Each of our values communicates an aspirational covenant among all who are a part of our community - clergy, staff, and members alike.
Make Yourself at Home
We cultivate warmth, familiarity, and comfort. Here, each of us is known. Each of us is seen. Each of us belongs. Our community is a place to rest, recharge, and return to - again and again.
Celebrate Our Story
We take pride in Jewish identity and practice, and we fi nd joy in their expression. Whether in song, learning, prayer, or tradition, we celebrate with full hearts and open arms.
Choose Togetherness
We believe in achdut - unity and collective strength - so that our tapestry of experiences, skills, and needs weave together to make a stronger whole. We listen deeply, lead collaboratively, and lift each other up for the greater good of our community.
Hold Each Other Close
We show up for one another in moments of celebration and sorrow. Whether we’re rejoicing, grieving, or simply being, we support each other with compassion, presence, and care.
Continue the Journey
We strengthen the fabric of our community by honoring and integrating all ages and stages. We learn from the past, live in the present, and build for those who will come after us, from generation to generation - l’dor vador.
