K-7 registration for 2024-2025 is now open!

Register here!

Dear Religious School Families,

We are very excited to open Religious School registration for the 2024-2025 school year!

As you peruse the at-a-glance calendar (below) and fill out the registration form for your rising K-7 child(ren), we want to take the opportunity to share some key components and highlights of the Religious School experience for students and parents alike.

The core elements of the R.S. program are:

Sunday learning

Kindergarten through 4th grade 9:00 to 11:00am
5th through 7th grade 11:30am to 1:00pm

  • grade-level classroom learning and activities for all grades
  • musical and spiritual t’fillah for all grades
  • music class for K-3 that aligns with classroom learning
  • family education programs for parents and students together (one each per year for K-6)

Hebrew Homepage

Individualized online Hebrew instruction through Hebrew Homepage, a program offered in collaboration with the JCC of Manhattan. Students begin with basic Hebrew decoding skills, and eventually progress to prayer literacy, with a particular focus on Shabbat blessings and liturgy. Students meet with tutors for twenty-four 30-minute sessions per year, scheduled by families according to their availability. Registration for HHP typically opens in August, so stay tuned!

***NEW for 3rd Grade!*** HHP has previously been offered to grades 4-7. Thanks to a generous donation, we are able to offer HHP to our third-grade students starting in January, 2025. Third graders will have twelve 30-minute sessions during the second half of the school year.

Shabbat B’Yachad

Our joyful multigenerational Shabbat service and dinner is held monthly. Over the course of the year, Grades 3-6 each have an opportunity to help lead the service as a class cohort. Every Shabbat B’Yachad dinner is open to the entire Sinai community, and for the student-led services, that grade cohort’s families will serve as hosts for the dinner.

Grades 3-7 Family Retreat

Held at Camp Harlam in the Poconos, this is a special opportunity to gather with Temple friends old and new for a weekend getaway in which families celebrate Shabbat together, share meals, learning, and classic camp activities, while building community and strengthening bonds with family and friends.

Tuition and fees

We are pleased to share that starting this year, we have folded all previously separate fees into one single payment at the time of registration. For the applicable grades, tuition will include all the program elements listed above (Sunday learning (K-7); Hebrew Homepage (3-7); grade-level Shabbat B’Yachad dinner for the whole family (3-6); Tallit Workshop (Gr 6 family program); Family Retreat for each eligible child and one parent (3-7); as well as registration and food fees that have been assessed as additional charges in the past. As always, need-based tuition assistance is available.

Registration Instructions

  • Payment includes all fees for core elements of the program as listed above. When registration is received and confirmed, the applicable amount will be billed to your account.
  • Grade-level tuition is non-refundable after the first day of class on September 15, 2024.
  • Grade 3-7 families: This registration is for Sunday classes. You will be able to select your child’s one-on-one weekly, virtual Hebrew session in a separate registration in August. Temple Sinai is thrilled to continue our partnership with Hebrew Homepage for the 2024–2025 school year. Through this program we are able to provide a total of 24 high quality, one-on-one Hebrew tutoring sessions for every 4th through 7th grader throughout the school year and 12 sessions for 3rd graders.  The temple subsidizes the partnership with Hebrew Homepage, as tuition alone does not cover the full cost.
  • The first day of school is September 15 and parents are expected to attend with students.
  • For questions about K-7 school programs, contact Rabbi Shira Gluck, Associate Rabbi and Director of Congregational Learning.
For assistance with registration, contact Anna Yezerova, Religious School Administrator (religiousschool@templesinainj.org; (908) 273-4921 X115).

Please note the following:

  • 2024-2025 tuition/fees and membership dues must be current or prior confidential arrangements made with Farrell Borine, Executive Director (Farrell@templesinainj.org; (908) 273-4921 ext.116) for your child to start school.
  • Temple Sinai has a confidential financial assistance program for qualifying families. Please contact Farrell Borine if you would like to discuss financial assistance.
